Emilia dress is a mini dress embellished with motif designed pearls.
My role was to experiment with the design of the motif designs itself, which included the selection of the different motifs and deciding on their placement on the dress.

After selecting through various motif designs to work with, I printed them out and started to play around with different placements.

Then came the experimentation of different beading placements, to create samples that were then conveyed into files to be sent to factory for production.

I worked on placing the pearl-embellished motifs onto the final dress. Although the placement had been finalised earlier, I had to adjust it during the final process, as the actual motifs were smaller than the paper versions used during experimentation. This created additional white space, which allowed me to refine and enhance the composition. Each motif was then individually hand-sewn onto the mini dress, and finally connected using cage-inspired lines, also embellished with beads.
